Cernik, Sandra Mae (Marriage - 2 September 1972)

Miss Sandra Mae Cernik and Conrad Richard Kozik repeated marriage vows Saturday September 2, at 2 p.m. in the Neillsville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melvin Nickel officiated at the double-ring ceremony which untied the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Cernik of Rt. 3 Neillsville, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Kozik of Rt. 1 Chili.

The bride’s empire-style gown of sheer lace over organza was styled with bishop sleeves and a lace train. Her fingertip veil was caught by a halo crown. She carried a cascade arrangement of red roses, glemellias and baby’s breath as she was presented in marriage by her parents.

Mrs. Linda Hawley of Merrillan was her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Judy Beisel of Madison, Miss Debbie Subke of Milwaukee, Miss Terri Fitzmaurice of new London and Miss Emma Fitzmaurice of Humbird. Their empire-style gowns of blue nylon over taffeta were fashioned with scalloped nylon lace trim and long, lantern sleeves gathered into wide, fitted cuffs. Baskets of colorful mixed flowers accented their gowns.

Clayton Hawley of Merrillan served as bestman. Groomsmen were Paul Beisel of Madison, Calvin Kozik and Corwin Kozik of Chili and Jerry Cernik. Guests were seated by LeRoy Fitzmaurice of Humbird and Vern Shannon of Marshfield.

Soloist Kada Fitzmaurice was accompanied by Linda Diers at the organ.

An afternoon reception at the Neillsville American Legion Hall was followed by an evening dance.

The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School. Her husband graduated from Marshfield Senior High School and employed in Spencer. After September 11, the couple will live at Kilty’s Kountry Kourt.
