Ratsch, Edna H. (21 September 1912 - 30 September 1972)

Funeral services for Mrs. Edna H. Ratsch, 60, of Neillsville, who died September 30 following an illness of two years, were held Monday, October 2, at 3 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ratsch, the daughter of Herman G. and Amelia (Reidel) (Krause) Ratsch was born September 21, 1912, in Clark County and was educated in area schools. Her marriage to Fred Ratsch, who died in 1955, took place October 26, 1942, in West Point, Nebr. She did restaurant work and was also employed at the canning factory and at Auto Test. Mrs. Ratsch was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Olga) Northup, Mrs. Eva Grottke and Mrs. Nora Marden of Neillsville and Mrs. Clarence (Ella) Schnabel of Rt. 1 Chili; and one brother, Paul Wagner of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were Alvin (missed name), Robert and Clarence Ratsch, Clarence Schlinkert, Anton Perushek and William Schwellenbach. Mrs. Harold Mayer sang “Be Still, My Soul” and “Asleep in Jesus.” She was accompanied by Victor Lehmann.

Those from out of town who attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. George Peternal of North Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Carl Papp and the Misses Ione and Delores Riedel of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Arlene Weiss and Diane and Linda and Mrs. Harry Volz of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Darrell Edwards and Lorikay and Mrs. Lillian Wagner of Alma Center, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ehlers and family of Green Bay, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Evanson and Mark of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Faune Durni of Merrillan, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schnabel and Dale of Chili and Mrs. Edna Janke and Mr. and Mrs. Celon Winter of Granton.
