------ Rau, Marie (15 JAN 1896 – 18 AUG 1966)
Mrs. Henry Rau, 70, rural Dorchester, died Thursday night, Aug. 18, enroute from 
her home to Memorial hospital, Medford.
Funeral services were held Monday at Peace Evangelical United Church of Christ, 
Dorchester. The Rev. Hugh Evans officiated and burial was in the Dorchester 
memorial cemetery.
The former Marie Malchow was born January 15, 1896, in Dorchester. She received 
her education at the Cleveland school, tow of Mayville. Her marriage to Henry 
Rau took place April 21, 1915, at Peace church Dorchester. Mrs. Rau was a member 
of Peace Evangelical United Church of Christ and its women’s guild, the Royal 
Neighbors of America, and the County Line homemakers club.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rau is survived by a daughter, Anna, at home; 
five sons, Frederic, Milwaukee, Melvin, Williamsburg, Va., George and William, 
Dorchester and Robert, Waukesha; 14 grand children; four sisters, Mrs. Anna 
Sprague, Stevens Point, Mrs. Louise Barker, Abbotsford, Mrs. Hugo Zenker, Park 
Falls, and two brothers, Walter Malchow, Stevens Point, and Fred Malchow, 
Abbotsford. She was preceded in death by one child, two brothers and a sister.
