Bonskold, Sven David (8 August 1893 - 3 February 1973)

A Neillsville resident for the last 10 years, Sven David Bonskold, 79, died here February 3. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. D. E. Sprague of the Assembly of God Church and Milton Hollaway of Marshfield officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Also officiating at the services was the Rev. H. W. Gereau of Withee.

Mr. Bonskold, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Erick Bonskold, was born August 8, 1893. Sweden and came to the United States at the age of 12, settling in Salem, S. D., where he did farm work. He farmed in both, North and South Dakota and homesteaded in Buffalo, S. D., before entering military service in 1916. Mr. Bonskold served in Europe; after his discharge from the service he returned to South Dakota and worked at Salem.

His marriage to the former Allie McKim took place May 20, 1925, in McIntosh, S. D. The couple lived in South Dakota for 10 years before moving to a Pittsville farm in 1935. They retired and came to Neillsville to live in 1963. Mr. Bonskold is survived by his wife.

Pallbearers were Gordon Hameloth, Andreas Lutz, Albert Mohr, James Dunlap, Harold Schlinsog and Herman Muhe. Honorary pallbearers were: Chris Smith, Ray Kutsche, Bert Shafer, Earl M. Christensen and Robert Clark. “Some Golden Daybreak” and “Under His Wings” were sung by Harold Schlinsog. Mrs. Dolores M. Novak was the accompanist.

Marion Christensen, Pittsville; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schlinsog and Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Lutz, Granton; the Rev. and Mrs. Milton Hollaway and son, Mr and Mrs. Lester Peters, Robert Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Lewis and Thomas and Albert Miaciejewski, Marshfield; the Rev. and Mrs. H. W. Gereau, Withee; Mrs. Dolores M. Novak, Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Schafer, Loyal.
