Miss Elizabeth Mary Butek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Butek Sr., Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Emery Valek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Valek, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Valek, Chicago, Ill., were married at an 11 a.m. Mass Saturday, May 13, 1967 at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp, by the Rev. Edward Masalewicz.

Mrs. M. Malinowski was the organist.

The bride, presented in marriage by her father, wore a white peau de soie and Chantilly lace entrained gown, featuring long, point at wrist sleeves, fitted bodice and long train, and a fingertip silk illusion veil flowing from a crystal and lace crown. Her flowers were Eucharist lilies held by long ribbon streamers with stephanotis.

In the bridal party were Miss Gail Papierniak, Thorp, maid of honor; Miss Robert Wald of Stanley, Miss Patricia Burzynski, Chicago, and Miss Cynthia Butek, Gilman, bridesmaids; and Susan Bonk, Chicago, flower girl.

The aides wore pink silk organza over taffeta dresses styled with empire bodice with pink train and white skirts, and carried arrangements of Eucharist lilies with ribbon streamers holding white stephanotis.

Edward Valek, Chicago, was best man. Groomsmen were Bill Butek Jr. of California, Robert Butek of Belvidere, Ill., and Robert Swidron, Chicago.

The reception for 350 guests took place at the parish hall, after which the couple left for Florida, from where they will go by boat to the Bahamas and Nassau.

When they return they will live in Chicago, where the groom is an electrical draftsman for Epstein and Epstein, an architectural firm. His wife, who works for the same firm, attended Thorp High School and Madison business College.

Hornick and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Karner and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Swidron and family, Florence Wiezczynski, all of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wolowik, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Olejniczak, Kenosha, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Casey, Racine, Ted Potopenko, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Thompson, Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Rich Yanos, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Aaranitahes, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Shuning, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Butek, Janesville, and Gail Papierniak and Bert Wald of Minneapolis.
