Meier, Jane Marie (Marriage - 16 June 1973)

St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church was the setting Saturday, June 16, for the marriage of Miss Jane Marie Meier and Edward Allen Kuhn. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Wildcat Inn.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Meier of Neillsville and Mrs. Dorothea Meier of Owen. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kuhn of Neillsville are the groom’s parents.

As she was presented in marriage by her father, the former Miss Meier wore a gown of nylon over taffeta fashioned with an empire bodice embroidered with venise lace appliqués. Lace appliqués also trimmed the wedding ring collar and the cuffs of the full sleeves and were repeated on either side of the A-line skirt. Her cathedral length veil of imported English illusion was edged with a wide band of Chantilly lace secured to a lace Camelot cap trimmed with seed pearls. The bridal bouquet included yellow roses, white daisies and cornflowers.

Barb Watenpuhl was the maid of honor, Debra Meier, the matron of honor and Joan Bohnsack and Charmain Montgomery were bridesmaids. The honor attendants’ lavender gowns and the bridesmaids’ maize gowns were fashioned of nylon organza over taffeta and detailed with empire bodices, wedding ring collars and softly shirred A-line skirts. White venise lace trimmed the collars and cuffs and encircled the waistlines. Their flowers were white daisies and cornflowers.

Gene Hohenstein, Granton, served as bestman. Groomsmen were Charles Meier, Dale Reinhart and Dave Austin. John Meihak and Richard Kuhn shared ushering duties.

Wayne Sorenson was the ringbearer and Dawn Iwaszczenko, the flower girl.

The bride was honored by prenuptial showers given by Barb Watenpuhl and Debra Meier.

The new Mrs. Kuhn graduated from Neillsville High School in 1973 and her husband graduated from the same school in 1971. He is employed by a Neillsville Bottling Company. The couple will live in Neillsville.
