Members of the Neillsville Kiwanis club worked at cleaning the beach at Camp Higichari Monday evening. Following the work detail, they had a steak fry at the H. H. Quicker cottage. Dale Armitage, club president, attended the international Kiwanis convention at Montreal, Canada, recently.

Sunday visitors at the Walter Larsen home were Mr. and Mrs. Emil Zdun of Pittsville. On the Fourth, Mr. and Mrs. Argil Stigen of Rosholt and their daughter, Mrs. Kathy Kallio and two sons of Chicago visited the Larsens.

Boy Scouts of Troop 64 are to leave Friday to spend six days at Camp Phillips near Haugen.

The Women’s Relief Corps met Tuesday afternoon at the American Legion Hall.

Member of Diamond Rebekah Lodge No. 64 were to meet Wednesday evening at the I.O.O.F. Lodge for a regular meeting.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maegdefessel visited with Mrs. Alfred Langner in Augusta Thursday and took her out to supper.

The annual Candlelight Homemaker club family picnic is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Snyder Park.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burr spent from last Wednesday to Saturday with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dahlke, in Beaver Dam. Enroute home, the Burrs attended the wedding of Miss Sandra Resch and James Jirschele in Weyauwega.

Mrs. George Grether returned Thursday from a visit with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Grether and son, John at Loon Lake near Shawano.

Mr. and Mrs. Linton Jahr of Fullerton, Ca, formerly of the Town of Washburn, visited last week with his aunt, Mrs. Helen Jahr, at Memorial Home. The Jahrs were house guests of his brother at Granton and also visited with other relatives and friends in the area.

Mr. and Mrs. John Subke and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kutsche were supper guests at the Fred Subke home July 5 and helped Mrs. Fred Subke celebrate her birthday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wall and daughters, Bonnie and Sherry, of West Palm Beach, Fla., visited area friends and relatives a few days last week. They visited at the homes of Mrs. Floyd Wall, Mrs. R. M. Horswill, and Mr. and Mrs. Hallie Horswill. The Walls are former Neillsville residents.

Construction was started on the new modular house of Mr. and Mrs. James Horswill and family on Grand Avenue last Friday. The new modular house being erected by Mr. and Mrs. William Kuchenbecker, located on Oak Street, was expected to arrive Wednesday.

Visitors last Friday and Saturday at the Friday and Saturday at the Robert Harvey home were his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Harvey, of Rockford, Il. Mr. Harvey, who spent many years in newspaper and radio in Neillsville, Sheboygan, Madison and Rockford, presently is in the security business in the Rockford area. Mrs. Harvey, the former Lois Druse, taught music in the Neillsville Public Schools and presently is teaching in the Rockford school system.
