Belanger, Lyle J. (3 JUL 1932 - 30 NOV 2014)

Lyle J. Belanger, 82, Athens, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014.

He was born July 3, 1932, in the town of Emmet, son of the late Arthur and Margaret (Schroeder) Belanger. On July 9, 1955, he married Donna Mae Beran in Milan. She preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2014.

The couple operated a dairy farm in the town of Johnson for many years. He also worked at the Athens Co-op for a short time. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping around the farm until his health made him retire.

Survivors include four children, Glenn (Carrie) Belanger, Athens, Gary (Maureen) Belanger, Athens, Brian Belanger, Conyers, Ga., Amy (Sean) Lehman, Whitefish Bay; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne (Gerri) Belanger, Lake Holcombe; and one sister, Myra Boneske, Athens.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Beverly Belanger, Fern Baumann and Jean Stremer.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. The Rev. Gary G. Paul presided. Burial was in the Athens Lutheran Cemetery, Athens.

Friends called on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
