Daellenbach, Lucille A. (Lindau) (29 JAN 1917 - 29 NOV 2014)

Lucille A. Daellenbach, age 97, of Abbotsford, passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Colby under the tender care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Lucille was born on January 29, 1917, in the Town of Mayville, Dorchester, the daughter of Albert and Amanda (Laack) Lindau. She attended Pleasant Hill School and Unity High School. Lucille was united in marriage to Emil Daellenbach on October 18, 1934, in Illinois. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1984. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1987.

Lucille had a great love of all kinds of music and was a talented musician her entire adult life. She and Emil had a dance band for 60 plus years and when they retired, the two of them continued to play for many community functions, anniversary parties, nursing homes, etc. Lucille was a member and past secretary of the Musicians Local 194 of Abbotsford.

Emil operated a small radio service in Abbotsford which grew into a business called “Emil’s Music Center.” Lucille and son, James, worked with him dealing in TVs, radios and all kinds of musical instruments, especially pianos, organs and accordions. She illustrated her talents on the accordion up to her 97th birthday.

She loved to dance and enjoyed going to polka fests throughout the area with her special friend, Ed Langteau, often using her motorhome to make the trips. Her family and friends will remember her sense of humor and love of parties.

Lucille enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and gardening. She was also a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford.

Lucille is survived by her son, James (Lucille) Daellenbach of Medford; two grandsons, Michael (Kim) Daellenbach and Jon (Melissa) Daellenbach, both of Massachusetts; four great-grandchildren, Jonathon, Natasha, Hannah and Tyler. She is further survived by her sister, Arletta (Robert) Goldamer of Abbotsford; three sisters-in-law, Marlene Lindau of Medford, Etola Lindau of Parrish, Fla., and Shirley Lindau of Rice Lake; and many nieces, nephews, and “music” friends.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Norman, Eugene, and twins Melvin and Elvin; and a sister, Vernetta, in childhood.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. The Rev. Dr. Gary Paul presided. Inurnment followed in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Family and friends were welcomed from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford was entrusted with the arrangements.

Family and friends may express condolences online at www.maurinaschilling.com.
