The Women’s Guild was to meet in Immanuel United Church of Christa Wednesday. Hostesses were to be Mrs. Delmain Toburen and Mrs. Erwin Toburen.

Mrs. Arthur Hendrickson will be in charge of the program at the Women’s Guild meeting today Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Zion United Church of Christ. Hostesses will be Mrs. Allen Dallman and Mrs. Rose Ludwig.

Mrs. Mary Bushman was admitted last Thursday evening at a Marshfield hospital.

Mrs. David Brooker of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Willard Clausen of Thorp were guests Monday of Mrs. Alice Speich.

Mrs. John Kaudy and daughter, Jeanette, of Stetsonville, visited Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kaudy.

Mr. and Mrs. Alan Bushman and children visited Sunday in Stetsonville at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kopfhamer.

Mrs. Clarissa Steel was honored by her children at her home Saturday ion observation of her birthday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Steele and children of Wausau; and Mr. and Mrs. John Maeder and sons of Wisconsin Rapids.

Mrs. Douglas Luther of Merrill spent the weekend at the home of her mother, Mrs. William Kuester, and with her sister, Miss Loretta Kuester, and brother, Leon Kuester, and his family.

Mrs. George Vollrath and Mrs. Eleanor Plank were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Durward Schwarze in Granton.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Strade of Oshkosh spent Monday at the homes of their cousins, Mrs. William Kuester and William Goeke. They also visited relatives in Colby.

Mr. and Mrs. J. H. McKinney of San Bernardino, Calif., arrived for a visit at the home of her brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bushman and other relatives. Recent visitors at the Bushman home were Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Moyer of California.

Casper Lindner was honored on his 74th birthday at a family gathering Sunday at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Janezich in Willard. A potluck dinner was served at noon.

Michelle Christy Bushman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Bushman, was baptized by the Rev. Leander Koopman Saturday evening at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bushman.

Guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kaudy were Mr. and Mrs. Nick Denardis and children, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Metcalf, Kenneth Metcalf and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bunson of Zion, Il.

Visitors Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Bushman were Dennis Syth and his fiancée, Miss Joyce Riley, of Madison.

Miss Patti Jo Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Thompson, has returned to Portage after spending a two-week vacation with her cousin, Kay Kavanaugh Batcha, in Athens, Greece.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carteron and sons, Denis and John, returned Monday after a visit at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Ermilio, in Elmwood Park, Il. They also visited their daughter, Miss Ritajean Carteron, in Highland Park, Il., with Miss Janet Brux in Oakdale, Il., and at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bachara in Prospect Heights, Il.

Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kuester were Mr. and Mrs. Tony Briski of Chicago.

Mrs. Lawrence Cox entertained members of the Wednesday afternoon bridge club at her home.

Mr and Mrs. Allen Johnson and children of Genoa, Il., spent Friday and Saturday at the home of Mrs. George Vollrath and Mrs. Eleanor Plank.

Mrs. Joseph Wolk of Medford is spending some time at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs. Donald Hanson.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hatton of St. Paul, Minn., recently spent last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Hatton, and also visited Mr. and Mrs. Mike Podobnik, Mrs. Wilbur Lenz and Ernest Arch.

Visitors recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson were their nephew and nieces, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Schmidt and sons, Dennis and Duane of Bennett; and Mrs. Garth Luchterhand and son, Arlyn, of Loyal.

The first wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Brux was celebrated recently with a picnic at Wildwood Park in Marshfield. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux, Judith, Monica, Edward, Allen and Mark of Greenwood; Mrs. Daniel Boh and Dan, Jr., Darwin and Mary Kokaly and Mrs. Hannah Kokaly and son, Bill; and Mr. and Mrs. William Boh and son, Larry, of Willard.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Verhulst accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Dugre of New Berlin on a week’s trip to Yellowstone Park. They also spend some time with the Verhulst’s son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. and Mrs. Harold Verhulst and family, in Milbank, S.D.

Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart were his sister, Mrs. George Osterhaus, and Willie Stewart and Lila Shock of Plainfield.

Mr. and Mrs. David Friske and Mr. and Mrs. Duane Olson spent several days recently on a trip to Mackinac Island.

Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Brux spent a day recently at the Oliver Kessler home in Manawa; the Vilas Brockman home in Freedom and the George Zwaster home in Appleton. Then they visited relatives in Kimberly.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Christine) Clark of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Pete (Frances) Reiber of Everett, Wash., and Mrs. Lucy Richelean of Wheaton, Il., visited recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Hatton. The three ladies are daughters of Dr. and Mrs. Karl Baker, former Greenwood residents.
