Mayer, Thomas Peter (10 JUL 1926 - 1 FEB 2015)

Thomas Peter Mayer, 88, of Stetsonville passed away Wednesday February 4th surrounded by his loving family at his house with the help of Hope Hospice.

Funeral services will be held Monday February 9th at 1:00pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville with Fr. Gerard Willger and Fr Simon Boyapati officiating. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Thomas was born in Lankin, ND on July 10, 1926 to the late Joseph and Mary (Bina) Mayer. He worked in the CCC Camps and then joined the Navy and served during WWII. He then moved to Milwaukee and became a baker by trade, met and married Dorothy Voit, who survives. They married June 23, 1951 and farmed until 1978 in Stetsonville. He worked at Weather Shield and also did handyman/wood working and built houses. After retirement he worked for Blume Farms.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Boxrucker-Berry Stetsonville Legion and Catholic Order of Foresters.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Stetsonville, his children, Jeff (Bev) of Stetsonville, Dan (Kathy) of Medford, Greg (Kathy) of New Port Richey, FL, Mary (Greg) Kraemer of Medford, Kris (Brad) Justice of Stetsonville, 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Hope Hospice or to the family to be designated at a later date. Mid Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family at this time.
