Gardner, Betty Ann (25 OCT 1969)

On Saturday, Oct. 25, 1969, Betty Ann Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gardner of Re 2, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of David Michael Pakiz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pakiz of Route 1, Greenwood. Father Michael Mertens officiated. They were married in the Holy Family Church of Willard.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The bride wore a princess style gown of white brocade with silver metallic trim, high collar, long pleat in the back which formed the train. Her fingertip veil was secured to a crown of crystals and pearls. She carried a crescent bouquet of white mums, red rose buds and ferns.

Maid of honor was Miss Connie Alperstett, Madison, Wis. Her bridesmaids were Miss Judy Gardner, Greenwood, and Miss Patrice Pakiz, also of Greenwood.

The attendants were dressed in princess style, with scoop necklines, and long sleeves of green brocade with gold metallic trim. They wore matching bow headpieces. They carried bouquets of gold and bronze mums.

Best man was Chris Sampson of Rhinelander. Groomsmen were Larry Pakiz and John Gardner of Greenwood.

Ushers were Ray Gardner and Dennis Pakiz, both of Greenwood.

The reception was held in the church halls; supper at the Immanuel United Church of Christ. A dance was held at the West Side Hall in Willard.

The bride is a graduate of Greenwood High School (1968) and a 1969 graduate of Eau Claire Technical School. She is employed at Thorp Life Insurance Corp.

The groom is a 1968 graduate of Greenwood High School and is a sophomore at Wis. St. University.

The couple will make their home in Superior, Wis.
