Chatterson, Leonard H. (1905? – 8 OCT 1967)

Mrs. Leonard H. Chatterson, 62, a retired missionary to Africa, died Sunday at Westminster Gardens, a home for retired missionaries of the United Presbyterian Church, USA, in Duarte, Calif. Funeral rites will be at Beaver Dam. Mrs. Chatterson was in ill health for several eyars and suffered a stroke a month ago.

Mr. Chatterson served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford and in Dec. 1927. Mr. and Mrs. Chatterson and son, Bob, left from here for Cameron, French West Africa, where Mr. Chatterson served at Treasurer for the entire mission area in West Africa.

During World War II, Mrs. Chatterson and won were forced to leave Africa and they in Marshfield. Mrs. Chatterson was widely known in this area as a speaker before various groups.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Beaver Dam, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Chatterson, the former Margaret Pratt of Loyal, has two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Jess of Madison and Mrs. Calvin Prior of Greenwood.
