McKaig, Rhonda L. (8 March 1963 - 9 March 2015)

Rhonda L. McKaig, 52, of Mt. Horeb passed away peacefully after a short bout with cancer Monday, March 9, 2015, at Agrace HospiceCare in the presence of her daughters. She was born March 8, 1963, in Marshfield to Wayne and Loretta (Kotchy) Trimberger.

Rhonda graduated from Neillsville High School in 1981. She attended UW-La Crosse where she met her former husband, Don McKaig. She later graduated from UW-Green Bay with a Bachelor’s degree in social work.

Rhonda’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her two daughters, Mandy and Amber. Amber’s basset hound Oppie was also very near and dear to her heart. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time in the garden. She also loved spending time outside, especially when the sun was shining.

Survivors include her daughters, Amanda (Leon Bradshaw) McKaig of Madison, and Amber (Kraig Oppriecht) McKaig of Gays Mills; her mother, Loretta (Jesse) Hagen of Willard; sister, Diane (Jean Johnson) Trimberger of Black Canyon City, AZ; best friend, Peggy (Jon) Baymiller of Aurora, OH; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne W. Trimberger.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday March 13, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 310 West Main Street in Mt. Horeb. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home, 500 N 8th St. Mr. Horeb.

We will forever miss her feistiness, sass and every-present beautiful smile.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be set up in the name of future grandchildren.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.camachofuneralhomes.com.  (608-437-5077) The Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
