Coming to visit Mr. and Mrs. Merninen at the Keskimaki home were their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Kalbow of Berwyn, Ill., and granddaughter, Mrs. Tom Decker and children of Pewaukee, Wis.

Word received by Mr. and Mrs. Keskimaki tell of their son, Pfc. Dale being chosen "Soldier of the Month" for the third time in detachment R, KMAG in Korea.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin Keskimaki and Kurt returned Thursday from a vacation trip to the Upsala, Ontario region of Canada.

Mrs. Alva Mertens had as her guests Sunday evening and Monday, her cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kelch and Mr. and Mrs. Max Smith and daughter, Judy, of Covington, and Piqua, O., who are touring Wisconsin in a house trailer.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mertens and family and Mrs. Alva Mertens visited Mrs. Ellen Miller who is employed at Pine Knob Inn near Minocqua Sunday.

Dr. and Mrs. A.A. Jarvis returned to Minneapolis by plane Thursday evening from Portland and Eugene, Ore., and Spokane, Wash. While in Portland they attended the National Convention of the American Veterinary Medical Association. They visited her brother and sister- in-law, Prof. and Mrs. Wm. Mitchell in Eugene, and relatives in Spokane. They traveled to Michigan on Friday and returned with their children Gale and Gary Sunday evening.

James Steffen, Chicago, is visiting her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tomich.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Steffen and family of Kandiyoli, Minn., spent the weekend at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. LeRoy Urman and family.

Mrs. Elsie Blunck of Minneapolis returned home Tuesday after spending a few days at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blunck and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zasoba held a lawn party Sunday in honor of Mr. A.R. Martin's 89th birthday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Nielsen and family and Mrs. Harry Gustafsen of Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Olds of Owen, Miss Isobelle Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bruchert and family, Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Bruchert, Mr. and Mrs. Steager and sons, Lyle and Arthur, and Miss Ruth Ann Kuehn of Owen, Ed, Harry and Lester Bruchschlager and Henry Gust, Owen. It was also the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bruchert.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Devine of Eau Claire were Sunday guests at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Johnson and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Russell Wollitz and son, Kerry, of Minneapolis spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Paulsen, and also attended the Gehrke – Sluzewski wedding Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Arne Bundgaard and family of Ladysmith visited his mother, Mrs. Anna Bundgaard on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Johnson and family returned Saturday from a week outing at a resort near Spooner.

Mrs. Ronald Auberg and daughter Tammy spent a few days in Minneapolis visiting relatives.

Rev. and Mrs. LeRoy Urman and family left Monday afternoon for Long Prairie, Minn. to visit his mother, Mrs. John Urman.

Mrs. James Devine is undergoing medical observation at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Auberg and family over the weekend were Mrs. Willard Dalbec, Mr. and Ernest Dalbec of Superior, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ossie Suoja and Kim of Rockford, Ill., and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Auberg of Eau Claire.

Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Frost left Friday for Milwaukee where they visited the home of their son, Vernon, and family. They returned home Monday.

Vernon Nielsen of Cedar Rapids, Ia. arrived Monday of last week and spent a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Paulsen and Hans Paulsen at Perkinstown.

Overnight guests Tuesday and Wednesday at the home of mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Frost were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Tadder and children, Bernard and Lois, of Racine.

Pvt. Richard A. Miller visited the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Armand Miller over the weekend.

A/3c Bernard E. Szczesniak of Minot Air Force Base, Minot, N.D., was home on a 20-day leave, which he enjoyed with his parents, who reside in the Maplehurst area, as well as with other relatives and friends. While he was here his sister, Lorraine, of Milwaukee, came home and spent the last week of his visit with his and her parents.

Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baum the past two and one-half weeks were their son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Baum of Miami, Fla and Mrs. Baum's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baum of Hialeah, Fla. They returned to their home this past week.

Visiting and helping his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dolson the past four weeks is Mike Shreffler of Wausau.
