Todd, Mildred Lorraine (24 February 1926 - 3 April 2015)

Mildred Todd, 89, of Granton died Friday, April 3, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Mildred Lorraine Scholtz was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Sherwood, the daughter of Ralph and Clara (Gall) Scholtz. She graduated from Neillsville High School and then worked at the Schultz Bros. Five and Dime store. She was united in marriage to Leslie R. Todd June 24, 1956. They raised their family and farmed on Highway W in Granton until 1980, when they sold the farm and moved to Romadka Avenue north of Granton. Leslie died six months later. ‘Ma Todd,’ as she was known in Pittsville or ‘Mrs. Todd’ or ‘Granton Grandma’ as she was known in Granton, worked for many years as a janitor at the Granton High School.

Mildred was a member of the Zion American Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid in Granton. She was a member of the Granton Senior Citizens, where she loved to play cards, especially Sheepshead. She was also a member of the Granton Birthday Club. She enjoyed sitting on her porch, having a beer and watching the birds and her cat. She enjoyed billiards and darts, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren, whether it was watching them when they were sick or attending their sporting events or horse shows.

She is survived by two children, Danielle (Gary ‘Moe’) Boushon, of Granton, and Dennis L. Todd of Pittsville; two grandchildren, Jen (Eric) Kummer and their children: Kylie, Caden and Kenzie, and Megan (Justin) Genteman, and their son Teagan. Mildred is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mickey Scholtz of Rockford, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie R. Todd; a son, Duane L. Todd; and three brothers: Ralph ‘Duane’ Scholtz, Gene Scholtz and Clement Scholtz.

Funeral services for Mildred will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, at the Zion American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton. Pastor Jay Welshonse will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion American Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church.

Casketbearers are: Eric Kummer, Justin Genteman, Dennis Scholtz, Gary Scholtz, Steve Scholtz and Ralph Scholz.
