Sunday forenoon Tom Allen returned from Red Wing, Minn., where he had gone the previous day, taking his wife and two children there, where they intend to spend two weeks visiting her parents.

The J.R. Baragers drove to Madison Saturday, where they attended the Wisconsin-Colorado football game as well as enjoying a visit with their daughter, Jean, and son, Jim, students at the U.

Attorney and Mrs. Ernest Gay and children left at noon Friday for Madison, where he attended to business matters and on Saturday they attended the Wisconsin-Colorado football game prior to returning home that evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Rowe and Nancy attended the wedding of a niece in Chippewa Falls Saturday. Nancy assisted her cousin at the wedding of Arlene Rowe to Ronald Trautch.

Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Mauel Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Clark Couillard, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Devine and children and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Devine and family drove to Eau Claire, where they attended the Eau Claire-Oshkosh, Wis. State Universities football game. Mike Devine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Devine, is a member of the squad again this year and Eau Claire won the contest, their first of the season, in an effort to repeat as conference champions.

The G.R. Scherer family spent the weekend in Monroe with relatives and attended the big cheese festival celebration Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. William Callahan of Wausau visited Friday with Victor Stendel at the Fremont Hotel and with the Joe Schindlers.

Mrs. Phyllis Bowen returned home after a week visit at Lake Geneva arriving Saturday.

A Watchtower study was conducted at the Fremont Hotel Monday by Joe Schindler.

Carl Pedersen visited with friends at the Fremont Hotel Monday.

Clifford Toraason returned to his employment at South Glastonbury, Conn. Saturday after having been here for the past week, being called home because of the illness of his father, Dr. C.M. Toraason.

Dr. C.M. Toraason is confined in Marshfield at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was taken there a week ago last Friday with complications of age.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hansen and family of Stevens Point visited at the Elton Fritz home this past week. They are enroute moving from Stevens Point to Madison.

Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kitze and family were his sisters, Mr. and Mrs. John Piltz and Dr. and Mrs. Oliver Smithies of Madison.

Early Monday morning Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gabriel left the city, continuing their vacation trip by driving to Las Vegas, Nev., where they will spend a week prior to returning to their home in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. They past two weeks they spent here visiting with his mother, Mrs. R.E. Gabriel, and also with his grandmother, Mrs. Wm. Perkins, and his sister, Mrs. Wm. Mahoney Jr. and family.

A week vacation trip to Washington, D.C. terminated late Saturday evening when Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thorson returned home. They were accompanied on the trip by Mr. and Mrs. Pete Christophersen of Thorp.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bladl were Sunday guests at the home of Mrs. Ann Zahradke at Granton.

Mr. and Mrs. Vern Laduron and family of Racine and Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Laduron and family of Wausau spent Sunday visiting at the home of Mrs. Martha Jasinski and Genie.

Visiting at the home of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Haselow, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Habighorst, are Amy and Debby Haselow, children of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Haselow, who arrived a week ago and are remaining for a two week visit while their parents are in Montreal, Canada on a business trip.
