Theiler, Emma (16 November 1905 - 31 October 1973)

Our community was deeply saddened Thursday, November 1, on hearing of the death of one of our well known citizens, Emma Theiler. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Otas Botts officiating. Music was provided by Susan Theiler and Nelda Stuve.

Mrs. Theiler was born November 16, 1905, and died October 31, 1973. She received her education in the Humbird Public School, being a graduate of Humbird High School. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, the Bluff View Rebekah Lodge, and the Senior Citizens Club.

Surviving are her husband, Will; three sons, Will, Jr., of Osseo; Kalwan of Humbird; Frederick of Cataract; two daughters: Mrs. John (Dixie) Gausel of San Jose, Ca, and Mrs. Eugene (Betty) Koplitz of Greely, Col.; four sisters, Mrs. Howard (Martha) Pierce of Black River Falls, Mrs. Klassy and Mrs. Alberts, New Glarus, and Hedwig of Greely, Col. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Pallbearers were Dick Trachsel, Jim Trachsel, Dennis Theiler, Jerry Tubbs, Tom Theiler and Don Johnson. Burial was made in Mentor Cemetery.

The large attendance and the profusion of flowers give testimony of the love and respect of friends far and near. The Charter of the Bluff View Rebekah Lodge No. 222 will be draped for 30 days and a memorial will be give to the family.

Coming from away were relatives and friends from San Jose, Ca.; Greely, Co.; Eau Claire, Black River Falls, Minneapolis, Minn., Silver Lake, Neillsville, New Glarus, Zion, Il., Osseo, Merrillan and our out-lying community.
