Moore, Alice (10 DEC 1866 – 8 NOV 1945)

The death of Mrs. Frank Moore, an old resident of Ingram occurred Thursday night, Nov. 8, 1945, after a lingering illness of four and one-half years.

She was born Dec. 10, 1866 in Sudetan Land, Northern Austria in the village of Typsa. She received her formal education that country, came to America with her aunt and uncle at the age of seventeen.

She located at Curtiss (Clark Co.), Wis., and a short time after she arrived, her parents came to this country. They homesteaded forty acres of land in Clark County, making her home there until she moved to Ingram in 1906.

In the meantime she was married to Frank Block. That union was blessed with two children, Mrs. Ann Kipp and Chas. Block. Fred Block passed away after seven years of married life.

Later she was married to Frank Moore, and three daughters were born to this union, Mrs. Lawrence Markison of Eau Claire, Mrs. Irving Iverson of Nashotale, and Mrs. Mildred Miller, who preceded her in death ten years ago.

She enjoyed good health until four and one-half years ago, when she was stricken with arthritis and became helpless and confined to her bed. During all this time she was cared for by her daughter until the last.

She leaves her husband, three daughters and s son to mourn her passing, also three grandchildren, Chas. Block Jr., Marge Iverson and Lowell Odegard, and two great-grandchildren, Karl and Sally Block.

The funeral was in care of McElravy Funeral Parlor, and service held at the Catholic Church, conducted by Fr. Gleisner of Catawba Monday morning. The body was taken to Hartland, Wis., where it was laid to rest by the daughter, Mrs. Miller, in the family lot.
