Neillsville News (17 June 2015)

Jordan Schultz, son of Rev. Thomas and the late Valerie (nee Vincent) Schultz, graduated May 17, 2015, from St. Norbert College in DePere with a degree in biology. Jordan is in the Army ROTC and was commissioned May 22, 2015 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh as a second lieutenant in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is the grandson of John and Theckla Schultz of New Ulm, MN and Florence Drescher of Neillsville.

Ruth Marg-Patton, New Brighton, MN, accompanied by Rhoena Marg, Alene Lautenbach and Amber Pischer, visited their 94-year-old aunt, Leona Tucker, in Wausau June 10. After leaving Wausau, Ruth then drove them to the Baraboo Hospital to visit the8ir brother, Erland Marg. Erland took a turn for the worse and died Friday. Erland was the last of three brothers to die. Thankfully, I still have a sister, Arlene Lautenbach, and two great sister-in-laws, Rhoena Marg and Jeanne Marg, and we will love, comfort and support each other. Erland and his wife Jeanne lived on Christmas Mountain in Wisconsin Dells. His service with military rites will be held in July at the Veterans Military Cemetery in King.

The Granton-Chili senior citizens met June 11 for their regular monthly meeting and potluck. June McHone furnished the ice cream for her birthday. The July meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, with potluck served around noon. Meetings are held at the Granton Community Hall. Visitors are welcome.
