Friday through Monday Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sillampa of Detroit, Mich. Visited here with his brother, Carl, and family. They then left for Minneapolis where they will remain until tomorrow visiting friend, and then return to Owen for the weekend.

Jerry Boxrucker visited here over the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Boxrucker. He returned Sunday evening to Milwaukee where he is employed.

Jack and Jim DeCremer of Eau Claire, formerly of Owen, enjoyed a day of swimming at the Barager cottage on Round Lake. Weekend guests of Jack Barager from Friday to Wednesday were Steve Huntzicker, while Gary Reinke returned home last Wednesday, after spending four days there. Also, Mike Gardner spent Saturday and Sunday at the Barager cottage.

A week ago Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Neal Laine and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Madsen enjoyed a drive to Lake Holcombe, where they visited with former residents, Mr. and Mrs. C.N. McMillan.

Mary and Kitty Shreve returned home Friday after visiting their grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Shreve, at the home of her son, Keith Shreve, and daughter Leona, in Chicago for the past five days.

Jean Barager went to Minocqua Sunday where she will be employed at the Paul Bunyan for the summer.

Clifford Montag and son Bill, and Jean Barager drove to Madison Wednesday, returning home Thursday. Bill registered and took tests for entry to the university for this fall.

Attending the ordination of Rev. Arthur Hildebrandt at Cathedral at Eau Claire Saturday morning were Rev. Richard Hewetson, who assisted as liturgist, and Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Barager, Jean and Jim.

Mrs. Louis Weisbrod and children and a lady friend, Mrs. Al Johnson and children of New Richmond visited Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anderson.

John Sabol arrived here a week ago Saturday, joining his wife and family, who have been visiting for two weeks at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wollum. On Thursday the Sabols drove to Eagle River to visit Mr. and Mrs. Bill Wollum before returning to their home in Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pyatt and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Peterson drove to Seymour Saturday, visiting until Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Martin and family.

Mrs. Carl Halverson underwent surgery at Luther Hospital at Eau Claire Thursday of last week.

Rev. Arnold Woodring and Robert Worden drove senior campers to the Big Sandy Camp in northern Minnesota Monday. Attending as counselors are Miss Vonnie Morscheck and Phyllis Worden. Campers attending this week are Taree, Denise and Kenneth Worden, Colleen Bater, and Pam Worden.

Mrs. Jim Huntzicker spent the weekend in Appleton, where she visited with relatives and friends.

Several Owen families, including Atty. And Mrs. Ernest Gay, Mr. and Harold Laube, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Arola and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Potocnik enjoyed a campout this past weekend at City Point camp site on Lake Holcombe.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnson and Mrs. Erma Embree of Highwood, Ill., spend the past week with Mrs. Mary Reinertson and Pat at her cottage on Island Lake. They all enjoyed a scenic tour of Duluth, Superior and Two Harbors. On their return they spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zudonyi at Jim Falls.

Enjoying an outing and picnic at Rib Mountain Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Riber, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tieman, and Mrs. Henry Koplitz.

Mrs. Robert Hopkins arrived here Wednesday and drover her father, Carl Halverson to Eau Claire, where they visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Jacobson, and was with Mrs. Halverson Thursday at Luther Hospital. Mrs. Halverson underwent major surgery Thursday.

Ens. James Wendt is spending a 10 day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wendt. Jim was recently transferred to Corpus Christi, Tex. For advanced Navy jet pilot training, after qualifying for jet landings and takeoffs on the Aircraft Carrier USS Lexington at Pensacola, Fla.

Felix Dietsche was admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital at Marshfield Monday of this week for medical treatment and observation. He was dismissed some 10 days to two weeks ago from another hospital, after better than a weeks of hospitalization and treatment.
