Burhop, Diane Alice (16 JUL 1966)
A double ring ceremony at a one o'clock nuptial mass Saturday, July 16, 1966,
Miss Diane Alice Burhop became the bride of Robert Prock. The lovely afternoon
wedding was conducted by Rev. Richard Hewetson at St. Katherine's Church, Owen.
Adorning the altar were two bouquets of white gladioli and carnations, with two
candelabras entwined with fern.
During the ceremony Mr. Lawrence LeFevre sang "Lord, Who at Cana's Wedding
Feast," "Our Father by Whose Name" and "Be Thou with Them.". Organist was Miss
Sharon Heideman.
When given in marriage by her father, the bride approached the altar wearing a
floor length empire organza bridal gown featuring lantern sleeves of hand
clipped Chantilly lace. Highlighting the A-line skirt, accented by a deep border
of lace, was a detachable train sweeping to chapel length. A cascade of Alencon
lace petals embellished with seed pearls and aurora borealis topped with a silk
organza rose, enhanced the bouffant elbow veil. She carried three long stemmed
roses.
Miss Shirley Petersen was the bride's maid of honor, and three bridesmaids
attending were Mrs. Joseph Switzky of Madison, sister of the bride; Mrs. William
Pawlak of Eau Claire, sister of the groom; and Miss Janie Westendorf. They wore
identical floor length sheaths of Hawthorne green crepe, accented at the empire
waists with lighter green Venetian lace. Open pillboxes, encircled with Venetian
lace, and bouffant veils completed their ensemble. They each carried one long
stemmed pink rose.
Attending the groom as best man was Rolland Woodbeck, with other attendants
being Joseph Switzky of Madison, William Pawlak of Eau Claire, and the bride's
brother, Alan Burhop.
Ushers were Ronald Stasek, cousin of the bride, and Kenneth Thorson.
The bride's mother was attired in a three piece aqua linen suit, wearing a
corsage of pink roses and white carnations.
The groom's mother chose a pink princess style crepe knit wearing a corsage of
pink roses and white carnations.
A dinner was held at 5 o'clock at St. Katherine's dining hall, with a reception
held at 9 o'clock at Prock's 19th Hole.
After a wedding trip to the Black Hills, the newlyweds will be at home at 2714
Bakeley Avenue, Eau Claire.
The bride is a 1964 graduate of the Owen-Withee High School and a junior at the
Wis. State University at Eau Claire.
The groom is a 1962 graduate of the Owen-Withee High School and is employed at
the U.S. Rubber Company in Eau Claire.
