McDonald, Judith Caroline (FEB 1968)

The Rev. W.G. Ruohomaki was the clergyman for the 3 p.m. double ring ceremony at the First Lutheran Church uniting in marriage Judith Caroline McDonald and Earl (Billy) Babbitt.

Music for the service was sung by Mrs. Anita Ruohomaki and the organist was Mrs. Ward Mitchell.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph McDonald, of Star Route 1, Iron Mountain, and Mrs. Edward Shea, 402 Fifth Street, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Byron Babbitt of Port Washington, Wis.

Given in marriage by her brother-in-law, James Warlin, the bride appeared in a floor length love-lace gown of acetate and nylon, fashioned with long lace sleeves and scalloped neckline. Her gown was detailed with a nylon and train trimmed in lace. A headpiece of Chantilly type lace was accented by sequins, pearls and crystal beads and held her elbow length veil of illusion. She carried an arrangement of white carnations and red roses.

In the role of honor attendant was Christine Freeman, friend of the bride, and the bridesmaid was Darlene Davis, also a friend. They were attired in gowns of dark green velvet created with a light green satin pleat. Their attire was complemented by matching headpiece. Each attendant carried an arrangement of red and white carnations. Acting as flower girl was Sandy Stanford, niece of the bridegroom.

Serving as best man was Ronald Wepfer, cousin of the bridegroom, and James Nanstedt, friend of the groom was groomsman. Ushers were James McDonald, brother of the bride, and Michael McDonald, nephew of the bride. The ring bearers was Edward Warlin, nephew of the bride..

After the ceremony a buffet supper was served the guests in attendance. The reception was held in the Merriman Town Hall.

The bride attended the Iron Mountain schools and the bridegroom attended school of the South Division, Milwaukee.

For a wedding trip to Madison, the new Mrs. Babbitt wore a black velvet dress trimmed with white lace and black accessories.

They will reside at 1243 west Windlake Avenue, Milwaukee.
