The Thorp High School graduating class of 1943 celebrated their 25th reunion
Saturday evening, July 6, 1968. Following a tour of the new high school, the
class members gathered at the Torpedo Restaurant for refreshments and dinner.
Guests were seated at tables decorated with silver streamers, silver candles,
and vases with red roses, the class flower. A beautiful cake made by Mrs. Vernon
Lewandowski graced the head table.
Mrs. Ralph Stuesser read the letters from the teachers, Mr. Peter Preboski, Mrs.
George Slauson Hanke, Miss Margaret Kelley, and Mrs. Newell Qualle, who were
unable to attend. Teacher who were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Swanson.
Mr. Robert Herman, acting as Master of Ceremonies, awarded prizes to the person
travelling the furthest distance – Phillip Neis; the youngest child – Ed Wolowik;
the largest family – Mercedes Maier (Mrs. Don Barton); "Special" awards to Leon
Papierniak, Roger Warner, Lawrence Bauer and Melania Karpinski. Mr. Pat Savata
entertained following the 7:30 dinner.

(Harycki) Olejniczak; Leon (Pappy) Papierniak; Helen (Gorsegner) Davish; Pat
