Brill, Henry (25 FEB 1920 - 4 AUG 2015)

Henry Brill, 95, of Withee, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Aspirus Care and Rehab Center in Medford.

Henry was born February 25, 1920 in Menominee, Mich. the son of Steve and Clara (Treadwell) Brill. He attended Medford high school for a few years. At age 17 he worked for the CCC's. He met and married his lifelong sweetheart Della Jean Fischer on May 24, 1941. She preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 2006.

Henry joined the US Navy in 1942, during World War II. He served on the highly decorated ship called the USS Spence. He received the Bronze Star from his bravery and courage. After his military service, he worked in Menomonee, Mich. for awhile. He then lived by the Nightingale on Hwy 64 west of Medford, where he ran a sawmill. They moved to County Road DD, where they had a farm. Henry also owned and operated White Wing Turkey Ranch, and later managed Wagner's Turkey farms. He also worked for Weather Shield in Medford.

Henry is survived by his seven children; Henry "Hank" (Debbie) Brill of Janesville, Mary Lou Straka of Medford, Micheal (Cheri) Brill of Withee, Michelle (Charlie) Makairian of Chicago, Ill., Charles Brill of Withee, Noreen (Tim) Wilde of Benton, and Jody Brill or Wausau. He is further survived by a sister; Clarice (Bruno) Pawlowicz of Dorchester, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, and four sisters.

The Maurina- Schilling Funeral Home of Owen is assisting the family with arrangements.
