Schindler, Marie Louise (23 NOV 1968)

St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford, was the scene of the wedding Nov. 23, 1968, of Miss Marie Louis Schindler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schindler of route 1, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), and Theodore A. Hoffman, Wausau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hoffman, Thorp.

Father Emil Hodnik officiated at the nuptial mass at 1 p.m. Music was provided by the church choir, with Mrs. Betty Decker, the organist.

The bride designed and fashioned her own gown and veil. The candlelite colored gown was styled with an Alencon lace bodice, featuring elbow length scalloped sleeves and a scalloped neckline. The A-line skirt was of peau de soie with a chapel length train detailed with Alencon lace. Her headpiece was a chalet of peau de soie covered with Alencon lace and trimmed with pearls, which held a shoulder length veil of Illusion.

She carried a white orchid surrounded by a cascade of stephanotis.

The matron of honor was Mrs. Patricia Krause of Prentice, a sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Jane Schindler, Curtiss, another sister, and Mrs. Patricia Ellenbecker of Dorchester, a friend.

They wore long wine colore velvet gowns with long tapered sleeves and mandarin collars. Each was accented with white lace braid around the collar and down the center front of the gown. They carried cascade bouquets of pink roses and white baby mums.

Tom Hoffman, twin brother of the groom, stationed with the Navy in Mississippi, was best man. The groomsmen were Fred J. Schindler, Curtiss, a brother of the bride, and Gregory Krause, Prentice, a brother-in-law of the bride.

Complete the bridal party was Miss Peggy Schindler, a sister of the bride, as junior bridesmaid.

Performing the ushering duties were Joe Sczick and Don Andeweziewicz.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Abbotsford City Hall, followed by a dinner at the church dining room. A dance was held in the evening at the Legion Hall in Thorp.

The bride is attending Stout State University at Menomonie, majoring in fashion merchandising. The groom, a plumber, is a graduate of the Wausau Technical School, and will be serving in the Navy.
