Chose, Kaia Deborah (4 February 1963 - 1 October 2015)

Kaia Deborah Chose, 52, of Neillsville died Thursday Oct. 1, 2015, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Kaia Deborah Knudson was born Feb. 4, 1963, in Orlean, France, the daughter of Thomas Allan and Joan Patricia (Wood) Knudson. When Kaia was very young, her family moved to Springfield, MA, and eventually to Bridgewater, MA, where Kaia graduated from high school in 1981. She spent a summer working at a camp for the deaf where she earned an associate’s degree. She moved to Neillsville and was united in marriage to Richard Chose.

Kaia had a very generous giving soul and shared that with everyone she met. She loved working with children and shined in her work as a teacher’s aide with the Neillsville Public School system for many years. Kaia was also a colorful person she had many talents including cooking, photography and cross-stitch. She loved to go camping, scuba diving, sailing, riding mules and loved music. She attended numerous concerts throughout her life, but her favorites were Jethro Tull and the Eagles. Kaia loved being a mom and grandma and taking care of her mom. Kaia also loved nature and was a member of the Winx Club and was a volunteer with the Hunter’s Safety course. She also worked at Speakeasy Saloon in Neillsville.

Kaia is survived by her parents; her husband, Richard Chose; a daughter, Kaia Patricia Lee (Jeffery Luther) Knudson, and a granddaughter, Kaia Audreyanna of Neillsville; a sister, Inger Patricia (Philippa Judd) Knudson of Denver, CO; and her beloved companion, Danny Schnabel of Neillsville.
