Greenwood (21 March 1974)

Mr. and Mrs. William Kavanaugh and her mother, Mrs. Palmer Vinger, and Mrs. Don Warner left last week Tuesday to spend a few days at Mt. Horeb with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Kavanaugh left from there for Brownsville, Tx., where they will reside. Mr. and Mrs. Jon Haunschild have moved into the Kavanaugh residence, which they purchased recently.

The Tuesday afternoon 500 club will meet at the home of Mrs. Edwin Hegenbarth.

The Birthday club met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Marcia Palms following a 6:30 dinner at Katy’s Café. Bridge was played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. Don Warner, Mrs. Casper Lindner, Mrs. A. C. Buker and Mrs. John Lindner.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Braun have returned after spending the weekend at the Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo., where they attended a seminar on home interiors and gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerrold Kuester came Monday to visit her mother and with her father, Lawrence Cox, who is a patient in Memorial Hospital in Neillsville.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stewart and sons, Robbie and Tommie, of Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart of Stanley, spent Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart.

The Tuesday afternoon 500 club met at the home of Mrs. Edwin Hegenbarth.

Mrs. Peter R. Nichols returned to Chicago after spending a week at the home of her mother, Mrs. Olaf Johnson at the Black River apartments.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Karlen of Stanley spent Saturday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Edwin Hegenbarth. Other recent guests at the Hegenbarth home were her grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kruschek of Waunakee.

The Clark County Senior Citizens steering committee met Monday afternoon at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Greenwood.

The Commissions on Missions met Tuesday at 8 p.m. in Immanuel United Church.

The circles of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will meet this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30; the Esther Circle at the home of Mrs. Otto Voie, and the Naomi Circle at the Leonard Olson home.

Members of the Confraternity of Christian doctrine held a roller skating party Sunday at Hatfield. They were chaperoned by some of the parents.

Sunday guests of Mrs. Effie Swieso were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thiede and Mrs. Margaret Lowe of Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Carteron took their daughter, Ritajean, to Arcadia Sunday, where she is employed.
