Washburn (21 March 1974)

Bible study will be held at the Albert Lincoln home Thursday night.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short were dinner and supper guests Sunday of Mrs. Harold Elmendorf in honor of Mrs. Short’s 76th birthday, which occurred March 9.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Matuszak and family of Milwaukee visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Matuszak, last weekend. Robert is recovering nicely from the back surgery he underwent several weeks ago in a Milwaukee hospital. He injured his back at his place of employment. He will be unable to return to his employment for several weeks yet.

Mr. and Mrs. David Vine were dinner guests Sunday of her grandmother, Mrs. Irving Stevens.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Jim) Kapfer spent Monday night and Tuesday with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams. On Tuesday they had business in Neillsville and also visited Mrs. Art Williams at Memorial Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kapfer were in Marshfield Thursday, where Mrs. Kapfer had her checkup.

Mrs. Albert (Lefty) Zank of Cedar Falls, Ia., spent the weekend with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams, and with her mother, Mrs. Art Williams, who is in Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. George Gorbet spent a few days recently with her mother, Mrs. Lucy Johnson of Warrens, in a La Crosse hospital, where she underwent t surgery.

Mrs. Walter Trachte has been sick since Friday.

Jerry Lincoln and Francis Lincoln called on Mrs. Art Odell and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Elberts Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short called on Mrs. Art Williams at memorial Hospital Thursday and also called on Mrs. Frank Short, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Wilding, Mrs. Daisy Hubing and Mrs. Julia Toptine at Memorial Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Krause and family of Markesan spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Horehled, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krause.

Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Feutz of Wisconsin Rapids spent Saturday with his mother, Mrs. Chris Feutz.

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Stelter of Marshfield called on Mrs. Irving Stevens Thursday.

Ed Kuhn called on Mrs. Art Odell and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Elberts Monday evening.

Mrs. A. H. Jacqueman and son Dan, of Heights Town, N.J., recently visited her mother, Mrs. Regina Prewitt, in Sherwood for a week.

Larry Von Knecton of Wausau called on Mrs. Irving Stevens Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert were dinner and supper guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Reinart were supper guests also. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reinart and Melvin Nemitz called there Sunday.

To Spiegel, son of Mrs. Geraldine Spiegel, who was in Memorial Hospital a few weeks with a back injury, returned home last week and is back in school now.

Latest reports of Francis Jacobson of Sherwood from the hospital in Marshfield, was that he was doing quite poorly. Later, X-rays revealed fractured ribs and he had developed pneumonia. He was very ill in intensive care.

The Cannonville Ladies Aid meeting which was to be held at the home of Mrs. Elmer Kapfer Wednesday has been postponed due to Mrs. Kapfer entertaining a bad cold or flu.
