Clark County Male Chorus (Spring Sing - 20 April 1974)

The annual Spring Sing of the Clark County Male Chorus will be presented Saturday, April 20, at 8:15 p.m. in the Neillsville High School auditorium. Again this year, the county singers will be joined by the Eau Claire male chorus.

The program includes a variety of spirituals, folk songs, show tunes, anthems, hymns and novelty numbers. Each chorus will sing individual selections and the two will combine for a number of massed tunes.

A special massed number will be “Movin’ On,” with Kendall Smith as soloist. Mrs. Elaine Smith will be the piano accompanist, and special instrumental effects will be added by the Rev. Gale Wolf on the string bass, Valerie Vincent on the flute and Jose De La Cruz on the guitar. All are from Neillsville.

Danny Slone, Greenwood, will be the soloist on the anthem “Not Alone for Might Empire.”

The Clark County Male Chorus is directed by Vern Dahlby of loyal. Mrs. Iris Musil, Neillsville, is the accompanist. Kendall Smith is the assistant director.

Paul Nixdorf, elementary music coordinator for the Eau Claire Public School System, directs the Eau Claire chorus. Nixdorf is a former Abbotsford resident. Mrs. Beverly Goetz, Eau Claire, formerly a teacher of elementary music in Wausau, is the group’s accompanist.
