Stargardt, Carl F. (8 August 1941 - 17 October 2015)

Carl F. Stargardt, 74, passed away Oct. 17, 2015, while visiting his son in Mississippi. He was born Aug. 8, 1941, to the late William and Loretta (Foss) Stargardt.

Carl grew up on a farm, worked at Neillsville Foundry and drove semi-trucks. He lived in Owen-Withee, Neillsville and Medford. Carl’s hobbies were hunting, fishing and woodworking.

Carl is survived by a very special friend, Sheila Hoeck; and is lovingly remembered by his son, Chip (April) Stargardt of Mississippi; step-son, Thomas (Angie) Carter of Marshfield; daughters: Tammy (Todd) Bryan of Marshfield, Rhonda Miller of Black River Falls and Bobbi (Travis) Griepentrog of Stratford; 22 grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

Carl will also be missed by his brothers, David, James (Sharon), Dennis, Steven and Gene (Tracy); sisters: Lola Delong, Bonnie Blum, Shirley Stark, Sandy Michur, Mary Gaffney (John Wogernese), Patricia Rueth and Lynette (Michael) Kron; and many nieces and nephews.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Chuck Miller; granddaughter, Constance Terese Carter; sister-in-law, Alice Stargardt; brothers-in-law, Russel (Pete) Delong, Doug Blum III, Ralph Stark Sr., Timothy Gaffney and Ralph Rueth; and niece, Angel Rueth.

Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at St. Mary’s Cemetery located north of Owen on Elm and Larson. Family and friends will meet 10:20 a.m. at Spence Village Hall, 105 S. Park St., in Spencer, and probed to the cemetery in Owen.

After the burial, family and friends will be returning to the Spencer Village Hall to celebrate Carl’s live. Please join us in celebrating Carl’s life from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Spencer Village Hall.

A special thank you goes to Brian Stark for the service and Dusty Thorne for driving our dad to his final home.
