Seliskar, Agnes (21 JAN 1881 – 23 MAY 1957)

Mrs. Gregor Seliskar, nee Agnes Jamnik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Jamnik, was born in Austria on Jan. 21, 1881 and came to the United States in 1902 and lived with a brother and sister in Waukegan, Ill.

In April 1906 she was married to Gregor Seliskar at Waukegan, Ill. In 1909 they came to the Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) area, settling on a farm 4 1/2 miles southwest of here. Mr. Seliskar passed away in February 1947.

She made her home for some time with her children, and six years ago purchased a home near her daughter at Owen (Clark Co.). Mrs. Seliskar, who has been ill with a heart condition, was a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, for some time.

She passed away at the Clark County Hospital, Owen, on Thursday, May 23, 1957. The body was brought to the Hill Funeral Parlors, where the rosary was said in the afternoon by Fathers Augustine and Beno of Willard, and in the evening by Father H..L. Crubel at Owen.

A requiem mass was said at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 27th. Rev. Augustine Svete officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

The pallbearers were Mike Kovatch, Joe Makovec, John Brezic, Henry Lamovec, Cyril Rakovec and Frank Lamovec.

Mrs. Seliskar is survived by three sons, Phillip and George, Greenwood; John, Sherman, Texas; and a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Makovec, Owen; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Her parents, her husband, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.
