Chili (2 May 1974)

Guests last Saturday evening at the Ray Mundt home for a gathering in observance of the Mundt’s’ birthdays were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mueller, Mr and Mrs. Wayne Booth, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Masephol, Karen, Dick and Irene Masephol and Melanie, Kevin and Jason Portz. Guests at the Mundt home the following day were the Freddie Portz family of Marshfield.

The Chili Homemakers met for their April meeting with Mrs. Phelps Spry. Miss Elda Happe led the project lesson on the energy crisis.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gorkowski and son, Alan, of Clear Lake, Ia., Archie Bequette of Fairchild, and Mrs. Mabel Doehr of Marshfield were recent guests at the Lyle Doehr home. Mr. Doehr and Mrs. Gorkowski spent two days fishing for Walleyes at Fremont and were overnight guests at the Dan Metko home there. Saturday overnight, and Sunday guests at the Doehr home last weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Dick Steinmetz of Horicon.

Fremont Homemakers met for their April meeting with Mrs. Viola Garbisch. Officers elected for 1974-1975 were Mrs. Dorothy Perrin, president; Mrs. Florence Paul, vice president; Mrs. Ruth Schlinsog, secretary; and Mrs. Frances Kauffman, treasurer. Donations were made toward sending Brian Jennings and Jim Perrin to Camp Waubek. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Kauffman on May 9.

Chili Senior Citizens met April 25 at the East Fremont School. Mrs. M. E. Sjolin, county extension home economist, showed a film on nutrition which was followed by discussion. Bingo was played and coffee and cookies were served after the program. The next meeting will be held May 23. The group was invited to the county Senior Citizens day May 26 at Owen.
