Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hurtis and their daughter, Lynn, of Marathon visited Sunday and were supper guests at the Ray Nowack home.

Miss Anna Carlberg, who is employed at Lynn, has moved into the Verla Hales apartment.

The York Center Community Club met May 15 with Mrs. Myrtie Davis for a noon dinner.

Word has been received here concerning the death Saturday morning in Tacoma, Wa., of Robert Thompson, 90, a former Town of York resident. Mr. Thompson lived in Washington for many years.

The Jubil-Aires, a gospel musical group from Minnesota, appeared Saturday evening and at the Sunday morning worship service at the York Center Methodist Church. They were guests Sunday noon at a congregational dinner honoring the confirmation of two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zvolena, and a Zvolena son who will graduate from Loyal High School.

Mr. and Mrs. Lucien Moh entertained Sunday in honor of their daughter, Mitzi, who was confirmed that morning at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Everett Schleef officiating. Guests were Rev. and Mrs. Schleef and family, Mrs. Mabel Doehr and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Lang and family of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Doehr and Daryl of Rt. 2 Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. David Harris and daughter, Jennifer, of Rochester, Mn., and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harris of Winona, Mn., Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bender of Neillsville and Mr. and Mrs. Armin Moh and family, Patsy White, Sheila Steiner and Randy Rose.

Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hillert and son, Brian, of Tomah spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hillert, for a belated Mother’s Day visit and for the observance of his father’s 83rd birthday.

Mrs. Myrtie Davis attended the baptism of her great-grandson, Kevin Douglas Schultz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schultz of Rt. 1 Granton, Wednesday evening, May 15, at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield. His sponsors were Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Schwantes. Mrs. Davis was among guests later at the Schultz home.
