Lehman, Edward George (1 MAR 1940 - 16 APR 2011)

Edward George Lehman, was welcomed into the comforting arms of God, On April 16th, 2011.

Although Ed was recently diagnosed with a terminal illness, his death was one of dignity and great peace. He died peacefully at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by his family, in prayer.

He was born March 1, 1940 in Athens son of the late Edmund Lehman and Rose (Romang) Lehman. He attended Trinity Lutheran and Athens High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. On June 15, 1963 he married Kathleen "Kitty" Boris at St. John's Catholic Church. They have resided in Edgar for over 40 years.

He was an employee for the Village of Edgar for more than 32 years. Upon retiring from the Village he took a little time off and returned to work part time at Color Vision Printing in Edgar. He was actively involved with the Edgar Lions Club, along with several committees at St John's Catholic Church. He also volunteered on the Edgar Fire Department as a fireman and EMT. Over the years he coached the 5th & 6th grade basketball and Little League teams.

Some of his favorite pastimes included watching a Packer or Brewer game, playing a good round of sheepshead with a cold one in hand, or sitting on his tractor taking care of his lawn. In his younger years he played softball, bowled, and was an avid outdoorsman.

Most of all Ed cherished & enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Kitty, Edgar his mother, Rose, Medford, his children, Michele & Dan Sauter, Marathon, Troy, Edgar, Bart & Kay, Edgar. Eight grandchildren, Chris, Gage, Tyler, Krystena, Alyssa, Cassie, Dalton and Allisyn. The family would like to thank all of the staff members of Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Northwinds Vent Community for their outstanding compassion, care and support throughout his stay at both facilities.

We will all miss your dazzling blue eyes, crooked little walk, and your unforgettable smile during good times and bad. You have touched more lives than you ever could have ever imagined.
