Schlinsog, Darwin D. (5 March 1946 - 31 January 2016)

Darwin D. Schlinsog, 69, of Hewitt, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield. He was born March 5, 1946, the son of the late Paul and Evelyn (Schuette) Schlinsog, and was raised on a farm south of Granton. He married Judy Schwarze Oct. 12, 1985, at Zion Lutheran Church, Granton.

Darwin ran his own carpentry business; drove wrecker for Chet’s Towing and worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 32 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting and collecting antique toy tractors and trains.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Schlinsog of Hewitt; daughter Amy (Dustin) Kuhlka of Neillsville; two step-daughters, Tammy (Tom) Hardinger of Marshfield and Tracy (Brad) Smith of Denver, CO; granddaughter Hattie Kuhlka of Neillsville; and step-grandchildren: Luke, Katie, Sam, Will, Jake, Jonah and Eleanor.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday Feb. 5, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7735 Yellowstone Drive in Hewitt. Rev. Dean Pingel will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 E. Veterans Parkway, Marshfield, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday, at the church.

The family would like to thank the House of the Dove nurses and staff for the excellent care they provided.
