Liske, Edna Alice (Miller) (28 JAN 1932 - 7 FEB 2016)

Edna Alice Liske, 84, Medford died Sunday, Feb, 7 at Aspirus Care and Rehab.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb, 13 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford with Rev. James Krueger officiating. Burial will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the services at the church. Pallbearers will be Ryan, Austin and Dany Liske, Jeff Mahnke, Zach Povolo, Dillon Nichols. Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Edna was born on Jan. 28, 1932 in Flint, Mich. to Adolph and Lydia (Schoenborn) Miller. She graduated from Medford High School. She married Alvin W. Liske, who survives, on Oct. 4, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Medford.

Before her marriage, she worked for The Farmers Union. Alvin and Edna owned a dairy farm in Medford, and she enjoyed helping out on the farm very much. Alvin and Edna planted over a quarter of a million trees. She also worked at the Medford CO-OP and K-Mart. Edna enjoyed shopping, traveling to different destinations around the United States, square dancing, and feeding the different wild life such as bear, deer and fish on the family farm. She loved her family, and especially her grandchildren. She loved all children, and treated them like they were her own.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ladies of Immanuel.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Don (Sandy) Liske of Medford and Mark Liske of Duluth, Minn.; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.; and a sister, Elsie (Leonard) Splett of Barron.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley A. Pernsteiner and a brother in infancy.

Memorial donations in honor of Edna, may be given to the family, for designation at a later date.
