Klancher, Kay Joanne (17 OCT 1970)

The Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, was the setting of the wedding of Kay Joanne Klancher, Willard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Klancher, Willard, and Patrick James Plautz, son of Mrs. Roger Djubenski, Willard.

Father Michael Mertens performed the 11:00 a.m. ceremony on October 17, 1970.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. For her fall wedding Miss Klancher chose a demi-bell silhouette of Angelskin peau de soie. Venice lace, adorned with ice blue satin ribbon, formed the mandarin collar, trimmed the front of the gown, and accented the bishop sleeves. Blue satin ribbon also adorned the empire waistline. A chapel train flowed from the mid-back of the gown. Her headpiece was a floral profile of white organza flowers accented by an ice blue satin ribbon. The headpiece secured her bouffant veil of bridal illusion. She carried a bouquet of white roses trimmed with blue ribbons.

Miss Mary Govek, Willard, was maid of honor, and Miss Geraldine Klinke was bridesmaid. They wore gowns of powder blue chiffon. Venice lace accented the bodice front, the mandarin collar, and the bishop sleeves. A single row of covered buttons adorned the bodice front, the mandarin collar, and the bishop sleeves. A single row of covered buttons adorned the bodice front.. Their headpieces were of satin bows which formed semi-profiles , and secured their bouffant veils. They each carried a bouquet of blue carnations trimmed with white mums.

Serving the groom as best man was Alan Noah, Greenwood, and James Barr, also of Greenwood was his groomsman..

The ushers were Paul M. Klancher, Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and Michael Plautz, Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.

A dinner followed by a reception was held in the church hall.

The bride is a 1970 Greenwood High School graduate and has been employed at ITT-Midwestern, Thorp, Wisconsin.

The groom is a 1967 graduate of Greenwood High and is employed as a carpenter by Stanley’s Cabinet Shop.
