Christopherson, John (27 AUG 1878 – 7 NOV 1958)

John Christopherson, son of Peter Christopherson and Karen (Johnson) Christopherson, was born on a farm 1 1/2 miles northeast of Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, on August 27, 1878.

He lived there until May of 1883, when he moved with his parents and brothers to the place now operated by Kenneth Verhulst. In April 1913 he moved to Montana, where he bought a relinquishment located 13 miles northeast of Vida, where e lived until he was taken to the Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point on August 23, 1958, where he passed away November 7, 1958. John never married. His sister, Clara, made her home with him.

Funeral services were held on November 11, 1958 at First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point. The Rev. Ralph Okland officiated. He was laid to rest in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, east of Vida, Montana.

The pallbearers were Clarence and Lawrence Olson, Henry and Paul Kuehne, Thomas Vine and Kenneth Ware.

Survivors are one brother, Andrew, and two sisters, Miss Clara Christopherson and Mrs. Regina Wanderaas, all of Vida, Montana; 7 nieces and nephews, and several grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives from away who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Christopherson and family and Orpha Stefanawicz of Wildrose, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Russel Christopherson and Arthur Wanderaas , all of Great Falls, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Vance Murphy and daughter of Havre, Montana; Mr. and Mrs. Orrie Vras of Brockton, Montana.
