Luck, Sophia (28 Feb 1833 – 13 Feb 1919)

Mrs. Sophia Luck died on Thursday, Feb. 13th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Caroline Rupprecht, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 14 days. She was born Sophia Haas in Germany and was united in marriage to Carl Luck in March, 1857. They came to the United States in 1882 and lived in Waukesha County until 1888, then removing to Clark County. Mr. Luck died five years ago. His widow is survived by six children as follows: Carl and Aug. Luck, Mrs. Henry Gehrs, Mrs. Carolyn Rupprecht, Mrs. Louis Eggebrecht of Milwaukee and Mrs. Chas. Daebel of Waukesha. Also by fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Luck was a very estimable old lady and though in her advanced years was in poor physical condition, yet she was of cheerful demeanor and her life was one of charity and kindness in all things. She was buried on Sunday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. Brandt at the German Lutheran Church and interment in the Neillsville Cemetery.
