Schofield, Cathy Lynn (Marriage - 8 June 1974)

Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood, was the setting Satruday, June 8, for the wedding of Miss Cathy Lynn Schofield and Edward Lee Vetrone. As a special to the favor to the couple, the Rev. Dale Trimberger, Lutheran Chaplain at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daugher of Mr. and Mrs. George Kippenhan, Rt. 1 Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. William H. Vetrone, Neillsville are the groom’s parents.

The former Miss Schofield carried a cascade arrangement of red roses, white carnation puffs and ivy as she was presented in marriage by her brother, Jerry Schofield, West Allis. Her white empire style gown of organza with lace featured a scoop neckline trimmed with lace-edged Ruggles. Rows of lace embellished the long, sheer sleeves and banded the hemline of the softly-gathered skirt. Venise lace edged the three tiers of her chapel length mantilla veil.

Jill Milkey, La Crosse, was the bride’s attendant. Bridesmaids were Norma Schlegelmilch of Neillsville, Jackie Milkey of Nekoosa, Connie Chadwick of Eau Claire, and Debra Vetrone of Neillsville. The attendants’ empire-waist gowns with matching short bolero jackets trimmed with wide lace were fashioned of white voile with splashes of purple, orange, green and turquoise flowers. Their three-tiered veils of deep purple were held by Juliet caps. Colonial bouquets of daisies, purple statice and deep purple ribbon streamers completed their ensembles.

The groom was attended by Dennis Krause, Neillsville, as bestman and by Dave Opelt, Pat Langreck and Rick Gaier, Neillsville, and George Kippenhan, Jr., Greenwood, as groomsmen. Ushering duties were shared by John Tibbett, Neillsville, and Roger Kippenhan, Greenwood.

Soloist Mrs. Barbara Ault sand “Entreat Me Not To Leave Thee’ and “The Lord’s Prayer.” Mrs. Margaret Schwarze was the organist.

A wedding dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom, where music was provided by the Mike Briski Band, followed a reception at the Wildcat Inn.

Mrs. Georgie DeMert and Mrs. Dorothy Burr was hostess for a pre-nuptial shower honoring the bride.

The new Mrs. Vetrone, a 1971 graduate of Neillsville High School and a 1973 graduate of Western Wisconsin Technical Institute-La Crosse, is employed in the intensive care unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Her husband, who also graduated from Neillsville High School in 1971, attended North Central Technical Institute-Wausau, is employed by a Neillsville building firm.

The couple will live in Neillsville.
