Fechhelm, Mary (12 FEB 1884 – 4 MAY 1968)

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Fechhelm, Unity, were held Tuesday, May 7 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby.

Mrs. Fechhelm died at 4 a.m. Saturday morning, May 4, 1968, at the Neillsville Memorial Nursing Home. She was 84.

The Rev. John B. Pinion officiated at the services, held at 10:30 a.m., and burial was made in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at Marshfield. Rosary services were held Monday evening by the Christian Mothers and St. Mary's Parish.

The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the arrangements.

The former Mary Konkur was born at Marshfield, February 12, 1884. She attended St. John's Catholic School, Marshfield, and Marshfield public schools. Her marriage to Henry Fechhelm took place February 17, 1909, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield.

After their marriage, the couple lived in Marshfield until 1921. They moved to the Dorchester area, where they operated a farm until 1930, when they moved to Unity. Mrs. Fechhelm lived there until two years ago, when she moved to the Memorial Home at Neillsville.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, and the Parish's Christian Mothers Society.

Surviving are a son, Joseph Fechhelm of Unity, and two daughters, Mrs. Philip (Helen) Schecklman of Loyal and Mrs. Clarence (Verna) Peterson of Chicago. There are also seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
