Krause, Jean Marie (11 MAY 1968)

The marriage of Miss Jean Marie Krause, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Krause of route 1, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), and Richard Joseph Geiger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geiger of route 1, Dorchester, took place Saturday, May 11, 1968, in a 1 p.m. ceremony at St. Bernard's Catholic Church before Rev. Emil Hodnik.

Music during the nuptial high mass was provided by the church choir, with Mrs. Betty Decker at the organ.

Two bouquets of red roses and white carnations graced the altars of the church. A red rose and lilies of the valley tied with white streamers were hung on each of the pews seating the relatives.

The bride chose a white dress of peau Chantilly lace with the bodice and sleeves of Chantilly lace. The gown was fashioned with an empire waist, A-line skirt of peau with the hemline of Chantilly lace, with an overskirt sweeping into a chapel train of all Chantilly lace. Accents of sequins adorned the border. Her three tiered bouffant veil was formed of Chantilly lace bordered with pearls and sequins.

She carried an arrangement of red roses, white carnations and lilies of the valley, with a white lace ribbon.

The maid of honor, Miss Janice Krause of Curtiss, a sister of the bride, wore a yellow gown with bodice and sleeves of chantilace, designed with an empire waistline. A sheath skirt was made of chiffon over taffeta, with chiffon coat styling on sides and back.

Miss Donna Nicks, a sister of the bride, of Dorchester, Janice Schmelzer, sister of the groom, of Colby, and Pam Geiger, cousin of the groom, of Dorchester, the three bridesmaids, each were dressed in aqua gowns, with headpieces of matching bows and petals, with short bouffant veils.

The bouquet for the maid of honor was of yellow roses with white carnations and lilies of the valley. Aqua roses with white carnations and lilies of the valley formed the floral arrangements carried by the bridesmaids.

The groom's attendants were Dale Geiger, brother of the groom, Dorchester, who served as best man, and Ed Geiger, Dorchester, cousin of the groom, Robert Krause, Curtiss, brother of the bride, and Roger Nicks, Dorchester, brother-in-law of the bride.

Seating the guests at the church were Walter Krause, a brother of the bride, and Roger Schmelzer, a brother-in-law of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Wedding bells and streamers of yellow, aqua and white decorated the garage for the gathering on the lawn of the home.

A supper was served at St. Bernard's Catholic Church dining hall. About 350 guests attended.

The evening was capped with a wedding dance at Dorchester Memorial Hall.

The new Mrs. Geiger is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School, and she had been employed as a machine operator at Square D. Corporation at Milwaukee. The groom, a graduate of the Colby High School, is employed by the Kohler Company of Kohler.

They will be making their home at Sheboygan Falls.

Guests attending came from Chicago, Waukegan, Milwaukee, Cazenovia, Greenwood, Westboro, and surrounding areas.
