Olson, Norman Andrew (19 MAY 1934 - 16 JUN 2016)
Norman Andrew Olson, age 82, of 59 Industrial Avenue, Clintonville, WI, formerly 
of Curtiss, passed away at Neenah Theda-Clark Hospital, on June 16, 2016. 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday June 22, 2016 at St. Paul’s 
Lutheran Church, Curtiss, WI, with Rev. Nancy Amacher officiating. 
Interment will be at the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery, Curtiss, WI.
Visitation will be at 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM, Wednesday 
June 22, 2016 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Curtiss.
Norman was born on May 19, 1934 in Medford, to Otto and Christina Catherine 
(Hoffman) Olson, Sr., and graduated from Medford High School in 1952.
He married Carol L. Sheets on June 11, 1958 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in 
Curtiss.
Norman grew up on a dairy farm in the Town of Holway. Following high school, 
Norman enlisted in the US Army. He then served in Germany for two years, where 
he was a Jeep Mechanic and driver in the Motorpool. Upon returning home, he 
worked briefly for Hurd Window Company, and also drove milk and logging truck. 
Norman worked construction on Highway 41, heading south out of Milwaukee, and 
drove the cement roller. He then worked as a welder for American Motor Company 
in Kenosha. Norman and Carol moved to Curtiss, WI and worked for Packaging 
Company of America where he was employed for 32 years, and retired in the mid 
1990’s. Norman loved to bird and deer hunt with the “Olson Gang.” He had a 
passion for mechanics, and became quite skilled. He thoroughly enjoyed polka 
music. He and Carol would often attend polka concerts and dances throughout 
Wisconsin. Norman loved his family, and will always be remembered as a humble 
and patient man, who was an excellent example of a Husband, Father and 
Grandfather. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Curtiss. 
Norman is survived by his wife, Carol L. Olson of Clintonville; children, Kristi 
(Dan) Ackerman of Loveland, CO, Michael Olson of Eau Claire and Nancy Dearth of 
Manawa; grandchildren Abigail (Noah) Dalton, Paul Ackerman, Sam (Jessica) Olson, 
Katrina (Scott) Radue, Kayla (Joshua) Suehs, Kenneth Dearth, Jr.; 11 great 
grandchildren; brother Otto (Karen) Olson of Medford; numerous nieces and 
nephews. 
He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Christina Catherine (Hoffman) 
Olson, Sr., infant sister Viola, and nephew Gordy Olson. 
Memorial donations in honor of Norman A. Olson may be given to St. Paul’s 
Lutheran Church, Curtiss.
