Tytor, Neal H. (13 JUL 1947 - 22 MAY 2016)

Neal H. Tytor, age 68, of Withee, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

A graveside service with military honors provided by the Lublin American Legion Post #547, Owen American Legion Post #123 and the Owen-Withee Vets Club will be held at Maplehurst Township Cemetery, July 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. This is located west on County Rd. A, right after you cross the Black River bridge.

Following the service will be a celebration of life at Meadowview Golf Course in Owen.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the arrangements.

Neal was born on July 13, 1947 in Chicago, IL, the son of Edmund and Florence (Carlson) Tytor.

He served in the USAF from September 22, 1965 to January 27, 1969. He started at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX, and was stationed in Pakistan and Okinawa, Japan. Neal was honorably discharged at Beale AFB, Marysville, CA as a Sergeant and his specialty was in electrical power.

Before leaving California, he worked at McDonald’s and according to him, he was one of the few employees that knew how to make a “Real Big Mac.” Neal purchased a 1939 Plymouth Coupe and made his drive home to Wisconsin.

Neal attended District 1 Technical College in September 1969 to June 1970 and again from April 1974 to January 1977, where he studied Diesel Mechanics and Ag Production. In his years after the Air Force he worked in farming and being a mechanic before ending up at Tombstone Pizza in the maintenance area, where he worked for 20+ years until his retirement.

In 1984, Neal bought the Tytor Family homestead which is where he made his home. In 1989, he received the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty award from Tombstone Pizza.

Neal enjoyed cycles all the way from his high school years to owning a scooter after he retired. Memorable times in Tech school was being part of the “Jive Five” household.

Neal is survived by his special friend, Jane Erl; four children, Sara (Jesse) Marsh, Nathan (Tiffany), Stacy (Jamie) Petit and Valerie (Jeff) Deegan; two grandchildren, Jayden and Katilynn Petit. He is further survived by three siblings, Trudy (Bob) Jischke, Brian Tytor and Gail (Bill) Nadon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
