Many area students are among the 1,300 named to win honors for scholastic achievement at Stevens Point University.

Those listed on the honor list from this area as announced by Dr. Gordon Haferbecker, vice president for academic affairs, are:

- Chili – David Rand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Rand.
- Granton – Linda Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Johnson, route 1; Marjorie Schlinsog, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schlinsog, route 2; and Diane Wegner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wegner, route 2.
- Loyal – Michael Tucker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Tucker; Thomas Collins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Collins, and Jack Guzman, son of Mrs. Melva Guzman.
