Ostrowski, Patrick J. (27 JUN 1957 - 29 MAY 2016)

Patrick J. Ostrowski “Pat the Cop,” 58, Rothschild, died peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Rennes Health Center under the care of Ministry’s Hospice Services with his family by his side.

He was born in Milwaukee on June 27, 1957, to the late Clarence and Joyce (Blake) Ostrowski.

Patrick made a lasting impact on more lives than he could imagine. As a son, husband, father, grandfather and Athens Chief of Police, he took care of others selflessly. Pat loved spending time with family (his “Nucleus”) cooking, fishing, hunting, traveling, visiting the track, working and listening. Recently, Patrick enjoyed caring for his adopted mother, Helen, continuing to do so even while fighting his own illness.

Patrick married Corrine (Tolk) Ostrowski on Sept. 6, 1980, and had three children, Tricia Ostrowski (Raymond McLemore), Travis Ostrowski and Trever (Amanda) Ostrowski. Corrine and Travis preceded him in death.

Patrick later married Cynthia Mueller on May 10, 2003, who brought two children to their family, Stacy (Mike) Shedivy and Carrie Madson. Patrick had seven grandchildren, Jace and Riley Ostrowski, Carter and Sierra Madson, and Olivia, Graham and Catherine Shedivy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine (Tolk) Ostrowski; a son, Travis Ostrowski; a brother, Joseph Boyack: and a grandson, William Shedivy.

A funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at Brainard Funeral Home-Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Visitation was held from 3:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, and again from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, June 1, all taking place at the funeral home.

A special thank you to all the caregivers at Aspirus Hospital, Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital and rehabilitation centers.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family or to a charity of their choice.
