Gottschalk, Eileen Gladys (Marriage - 22 June 1974)

Minot, N. D. will be the home of Airman and Mrs. Gary Allan Lyon, who were married Satruday, June 22, in a 3 p.m. ceremony performed at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, by the Rev. David Ault of St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer. A reception and a dance were held at the Unity Memorial Hall.

The bride, the former Miss Eileen Gladys Gottschalk, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gottschalk, Rt. 1 Unity. Mr. and Mrs. William Lyon, Riplinger, are the groom’s parents.

Lace and sheer taffeta were the fabric selected to fashion the bride’s gown, which featured a Watteau train. A three-tiered, elbow length bouffant veil and Chantilly lace profile headpiece completed the ensemble, which was highlighted by a cascade arrangement of red roses and white carnations with lilies of the valley.

Miss Donna Gottschalk, Marshfield, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Carol Neitzel, Spencer, another sister, and Miss Susan Lyon, Riplinger, sister of the groom. Miss Gottschalk’s blue gown and the bridesmaids’ yellow gowns were fashioned in princess style and trimmed with daisy appliqué. They carried baskets of yellow and blue daisies.

Airman Ronald Flink, Altus, Ok, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Donald Wisnosky, Riplinger, also a friend of the groom, and David Gottschalk, Unity, brother of the bride. David Newman, Riplinger and Gene Knoll Colby, acted as ushers.

The groom’s nephew, Robbie Halverson of Riplinger, was the ringbearer and the bride’s niece, LaVonne Neitzel of Spencer was the flower girl. Her gown was identical to those of the bridesmaids.

Music was by Janet Kuesel of Riplinger, organist, and Mrs. David Ault, soloist.

The newlyweds who will make their home in Minot, N. D., are both graduates of Colby High School. He has been with the Air Force since June, 1973. A wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells was planned.
