Michlig, Alex L. (22 APR 1915 - 4 DEC 2007)

Alex L. Michlig, 92, Wausau, died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at North Central Health Care Center, Wausau.

He was born April 22, 1915 in town of Cassel, son of the late Wendel and Theresa (Furger) Michlig. On February 26, 1935 he married Dorothy Koppa at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, town of Cassel. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1998.

Alex worked at D.J. Murray Machine for 39 years, retiring in 1980. He played on the St. Michael Dartball League since 1940, loved baseball and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Myron (Carol) Michlig, Laverne Michlig, Robert (Connie) Michlig, Delmar (Phyllis) Michlig, Allen (Janet) Michlig, all of Wausau, Sharon (Cliff) Cebula, Hatley and Ronald (Mary) Michlig, Wausau; 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joanna Michlig, Marathon and many other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents and wife, Dorothy, he was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister and one grandchild.

The memorial mass will be celebrated Noon Friday, December 7, 2007 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday all at the church.
