Janesville Settlement (24 Apr 1919)

Chas. Bostwick came down from Withee Thursday, where he spent the winter in the woods. He brought back a fine big team of black horses and will run his farm here this year.

Mrs. Robert Waseca had a very serious misfortune last Tuesday morning when she fell a distance of 8 feet in the barn and broke her hip. She was taken to the Marshfield Hospital Thursday, accompanied by Dr. Boeckmann and her son-in-law, Jos. Susa. She was operated upon Friday morning and was found in a very serious condition. The round bone had broken off which necessitated the substitute of an irony pin. She is getting along as well as can be expected.

F. Hatton and family spent Thursday evening with Mrs. Dillenbeck.

Mr. Wepner attended the sale at Willard Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Keefe and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Buettner spent Sunday evening at S.B. Flagg’s.

David Moorehead purchased a fine gray colt from F. Hatton last week.

Chas. Bostwick was a business caller at Neillsville Monday.

Mr. Pitts and family of Tioga spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kalkofen here.

Mrs. S.B. Flagg is spending this week with her brother, Leo Palzer, in Owega, while her mother is making a visit at Two Rivers.

Mrs. Chas. Halle and Mrs. Julius Halle left Thursday. Mrs. Halle will visit her parents at Fond du Lac and Mrs. Julius Halle will visit her children at Calvary, Fond du Lac, and other places.

Mr. and Mrs. C. Hatton entertained for dinner Sunday the following: Mrs. Dillenbeck and son, Roger, Mr. Hatton and family, Helen Farning, Mr. and Mrs. Al. Flagg and Mr. and Mrs. S.B. Flagg.

David Moorehead called at Ed. Keefe’s Sunday afternoon.

The Social Circle will meet at Mrs. Dillenbeck’s Wednesday night.

Annabel Moorehead has been on the sick list.

Chas. Bostwick purchased a fine cow at Withee last week.

Mr. and Mrs. F. Hatton spent Sunday evening at the Sharp and Wegner homes.

Joseph Susa returned from Marshfield Monday, leaving Mrs. Waseca as well as could be expected.

Mr. and Mrs. Wegner were Willard callers Sunday.
